About
Jana Junker completed her training as a Goldsmith in Trondheim, Norway and in London, UK. She is currently completing her studies in Object Design in Düsseldorf.
Her work often stems from the drive to question things. The more one philosophizes, the fewer truths there are. For every thesis, there's an antithesis!
Of course, we all need a framework of reality to navigate this world. But despite this, we shouldn't forget to question it, to interrogate it. One could also say her work is always an attempt to look beyond her own limited horizon.
She criticizes the gullibility towards seemingly established truths and realities. How often have theories and truths, once considered absolute dogmas, proven to be false – suddenly no longer true?
It is precisely in this realm that she wants to delve with her inquiries. In the space where another truth may seem unimaginable, yet can still be found.
Transferred into objects, she plays with perfection and imperfection. Each piece therefore takes on a unique character through its textures and imperfections, and tells a story on its own.
